PPI Claims

We handle Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) claims on behalf of consumers who have been mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI).

Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) is usually sold alongside other financial products, such as mortgages, loans, credit/store cards and also single product purchases, for example, sofas. Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) is an insurance policy which makes repayments on borrowing should you find yourself out of work or unable to earn.

However many of these policies have been mis-sold by lenders, including the banks. The policies are often added to the loan and can add thousands of pounds over the life of the loan.

Figures show that over 12 million Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) policies have been sold in the UK to millions of people, many of whom do not need or cannot use the insurance.

If you have been a victim of mis-selling at the hands of unscrupulous lenders, you are entitled to claim your money back plus interest.

Our experienced PPI team will seek to claim back all the premiums, plus interest on your behalf.

‘No Win No Fee’ PPI Claims

We provide free initial advice and pursue PPI claims via the Financial Ombudsman Service (FoS) route on a ‘No Win No Fee‘ basis under what is known as a Contingency Fee Agreement or a “CFA” under which only on us achieving a “win” in respect of your PPI claim, that is we are successful in recovering compensation from the opponent financial institution for your PPI claim, do you pay our charges of 25% of the compensation awarded to you by the opponent financial institution for your PPI claim plus VAT for the work done by us on your PPI claim.

We can confirm that you do not pay us any upfront fees in respect of our charges for pursuing your PPI claim and there are no hidden charges.

In relation to PPI claims it is extremely difficult to estimate at the outset exactly how much you will receive by way of a settlement or a compensation award for your PPI claim from the opponent financial institution.

By way of an example, if you were to receive compensation in terms of a reimbursement of £3,000 credited to your account or sent to you by cheque then you pay us 25% of this compensation award plus VAT in respect of our charges, namely you pay us £900 inclusive of VAT with the balance owing to you of £2,100.

However, if you were to receive a reimbursement of £3,000, but your account is in arrears by £3,000, namely the PPI compensation awarded by the opponent financial institution is by way of a ‘set-off’ or a ‘write off’ against your outstanding loan with the financial institution, then although, for example, you will not receive a cheque for £3,000 for your PPI compensation, you will still have to pay 25% plus VAT in respect of our charges, that is £900 inclusive of VAT, although you will not receive any money by way of a payment to you as your debt will have been cleared.

If you “lose” your PPI claim and we are unsuccessful in recovering any compensation from the opponent financial institution for your PPI claim, you do not pay us anything under the terms of the ‘No Win No Fee’ Contingency Fee Agreement for the work that we have done on your case.

When we assess your case we will consider all options open to you, including the possibility of you making your PPI claim yourself. It is relatively easy to do so utilising the various sources of free help available including the Financial Ombudsman Service (FoS) consumer helpline.

However, some people choose to instruct a solicitor to handle their PPI claim instead as they want to save themselves the time and effort involved in pursuing it themselves or because they have difficulties in communication or understanding financial matters. If you are such a person then we will be happy to assist you on a ‘No Win No Fee’ Contingency Fee Agreement basis.

By agreeing to instruct us to pursue your PPI claim on a ‘No Win No Fee’ Contingency Fee Agreement basis, you understand (i) that you had the option of pursuing your PPI claim via the Financial Ombudsman Service (FoS) yourself without instructing us to act on your behalf by utilizing the various sources of free help available, for example, on the FoS consumer helpline and website http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/factsheets/payment-protection-insurance.pdf and (ii) that you are instructing us to act for you instead simply to save yourself the time, effort involved and/or have difficulties in communication and/or understanding financial matters.

Our ‘No Win No Fee’ PPI claims service does not extend to representing you in making a claim against the opponent financial institution by way of Court Proceedings and instead our work is limited to reaching a settlement in respect of your PPI claim by way of (i) direct non-litigation negotiations failing which (ii) pursuing your PPI claim by way of submitting an application to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FoS) to adjudicate on whether  you were mis-sold payment protection insurance by the opponent financial institution.
