Call For Rational Debate On Referral Fees

The Association Of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) has called for a rational debate on the proposed ban on referral fees challenging comments in The Times by AXA Insurance. APIL said that a sensible and rational debate was needed not ‘myth and insurance industry hype’.

APIL went on to also challenge the so called ‘compensation culture’ which the insurance industry pedals stating that in fact this has been dismissed as a myth in two independent major government reviews of health and safety.

The APIL chief executive said that “no one can deny that motor premiums have increased in recent years, but it is disingenuous for the insurance industry to blame everone but itself.”
